Your task is to design a machine that dispenses that which cannot ordinarily be sold. Starting with the insertion of a payment and the selection of a “dream,” your machine will deliver things that people yearn to obtain. Whether your machine sells time, happiness, or other inspired intangibles, it will reveal them in fantastic and innovative ways. The time interval between selecting and dispensing should also be a source of interest. While you are welcome to use traditional vending machine formats to dispense your goods, you are also encouraged to think outside the box
Fig-jammed with teammates on potential themes and the interaction potential of each idea.
After doing a group analysis of each theme and personally starring themes of interest, we selected “The Seven Deadly Sins.” We then created a mind map of what the various frames could lead to and their UI/UX.
We took an artistic approach to each sin depiction and sketched out potential visual and experiential components of each one.

These Figma sketches helped us solidify the interactions we wanted to the user to experience. We decided to guide the user through the sin landscape as the “cure” draws closer. These sketches include a few artistic elements that characterize each sin.
This project was the perfect introduction to interaction design as I was able to incorporate artistic elements with user experience. I learned how to conceptualize an idea in Figma using animations and interactions. Given more time I would have loved to build out enough interactions to where it functioned as a video game as opposed to a walkthrough of the world we created.
